I get 4 multi color squares on my screen when my PC ether goes into sleep mode and wakes up or when its been on to long, I switched my graphics card to a different port on my motherboard, changed my Lithium battery, I updated my Geforce driver (deleted my old driver and installed a new one), and its still there and I don't know why if anyone can help me I would be really grateful cause its starting to annoy me. If you want to know what the squares look like tell me you're email and ill send you the pics cause it wont let me attach the pics to this post.

Could you say what your computer is and specs? Along with how old it is and if the screen is part of it or not? As if it's possible to plug it into another computer I would do that to see if it's the screen or actually the computer. But if it's an laptop then it's hard to do that.

My computer is only 2 years old.
I put it in another computer it didn't have a problem only it got really hot cause the computer I put it in had a really powerful power box, and when I put it back in my computer I didn't have the problem for like a day and then it came back. I don't have another computer to put it in other than my friends.
Specs: Maximus VIII Hero (motherboard), I7 core- 6700k, Viper 16gb (2x8gb), internal hdd 3 tb, RM650i, 850 SSD EVO m.2, H80i v2, Geforce GTX 970 4gb strix.

Hm since it worked fine on someone else's computer I would suggest then asking for an screen from them to use temporarily (more than an day most likely up to a week to be safe) and if it happens then I would say start looking at doing video card tests as it could very well be that causing the issue. Though this shouldn't have happened in my mind unless you did not keep it clean of dust and cool as heat damage is easy when the card is heavily dusted and in the summer.

Ok I'll try that if that does not work I'll test the video card. Hey what if I have an old computer screen that I don't use could i use that to test it (the only problem I have with testing the other monitor is that its like 10 years old and has a 1920x1080 res instead of the current 3840x2160 res)?

That should be okay as long as it works to begin with.

so did you fix it ? Sounds for me like a Artefact in the Monitor / Screen. Its a TFT, LCD or some super old Monster.

The current monitor is only 2 years old so I don't think it's it, another reason I think it's not the monitor is the fact that the 4 squares moves I found this out yesterday cause I have obs and the squares attached it self to obs and it moved with the program so it can't be the monitor. The old monitor is an emachines and it res is actually 1440x900

If you can see the squares in your stream, as in they get recorded by OBS, Then it is (most likely) a software issue.

To Summarize what I have read thusfar:

1. OBS records using it's own display drivers (universal ones) it is prety much proof that they do not originate from faulty drivers. also because:
2. You also stated they started to re-appear after transplanting it back from a test-PC after an hour or so.
3. If it had been drivers or monitor, they would have re-appeared instantly.

So the things you can still try:

1. Check your CABLES; you won't be the first nor the last one that has a faulty display cable or inferior quality cable that suffers from Radio Interference. Swap them out with some other cables and see what happens. Espescially low grade (mini)HDMI and Display Port cables are known to have issues.

2. Check the programs that are running on the PC when those squares appear -> [CTRL] + [SHIFT] + [ESC] (Taskmanager) and close everything (!) that you do not recognise or isn't part of the OS. See if they are still there.

3. Try another (borrowed/donor) Graphics card in your PC, if the the squares come back, it's definitely not your card.

Things I would look at:

1. Drivers, I don't think so as OBS uses it's own (secondary) drivers, so if you can see/record them in OBS, it's highly unlikely that it's drivers as then both the OBS drivers as well as the drivers from your equipment manufacturer would be at fault. Either one failing, sure... Both? not so much.

2. Hardware; Although unlikely, but excessive heat can do weird things with GFX cards; make sure the temperature of your card does not get above about 160°F (70°C) when at peak performance and it should be stable (at idle) at about 120°F (50°C) but preferably lower. If your card goes above those numbers, well, there's your problem right there.

3. Software; This would be the culprit in my book based on what you have told us thusfar. See step 2 on the list, see what is running, and shut down everything you do not explicitly need.

If the artifacts are still there, and the above doesn't sove it... There is nothing I can do without physically checking the PC and I don't think that's possible 8-)

Thanks for the advice, and sorry I didn't post a response sooner I was busy with my college classes, for your solutions I believe it's eather the cables or the GTX (overheating or something else with it). I don't believe it would be the software because I don't run a lot of programs in the background of my game but and when they would pop up and I was done with a game and I'm about to shut down my PC, I close all of my programs and the squares are still there next time I get the chance and they pop up again I'll take a pic with task manager near it and you will see that it's not software. And for trying a different graphics card, that might be difficult for me because I only have 1 IRL friend and his graphics card is too big for my PC case so that's out the window. I think it's most likely heat cause most of the time the squares pops up is when the fans on the card are going and also that some of my Computer Science Club friends said I need to place my fans in different spots.
